This holiday home is situated in the heart of the Alto Minho region, near the beautiful beaches of Portugal. Of course if you prefer, you can refresh yourself in the pool of the house. The accommodation consists of two parts: the original house and an old granary, now adapted to housing. The house sits on a plot of terraced vineyards and from the pool you have a nice panoramic view of the striking silhouette of the Senhor do Socorro sanctuary. The accommodation is located in the parish of Lambruja, which is best known for its Church of the Lord of Socorro, where big festivals are held each year on the first Saturday and Sunday of July. Apart from its natural vocation as a housing unit, the accommodation also makes an excellent base for exploring a remarkable network of trails/routes which meander their way through the mountains and valleys of the Serra D'Arga (an important conservation area) and Peneda–Gerês National Park. During the renovation of the house the traditional architecture was retained while adding the necessary comforts and conveniences of modern times, including a nice pool. The ground floor of the house has two double bedrooms and one double bedroom with a private bathroom (plus the possibility of adding extra beds). On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a reading room. The accommodation has central heating and access to a television, telephone and internet. The former granary, now connected to the original house, integrates a large common room and kitchen. From the lounge you have access to the „eira” (threshing floor) which provides opportunities in summer for outdoor dining and recreation. The „eira” also provides access to the pool, the old granary and alembic. This region includes a number of protected nature areas including the Serra d'Arga and the Peneda-Geres National Park. For lovers of history, there is the parish of Labruja with a script from the "road to Santiago” dating back to Roman times. It bears a considerable wealth of history. The nearby town of Ponte de Lima, named after its ancient Roman bridge, is one of the most beautiful towns in Portugal’s Alto Minho region. It has a number of offerings in terms of history, heritage, art and natural beauty and is much appreciated by tourists and visitors who prefer destinations where the landscape, biodiversity, respect for the environment, history and tradition play the major role. From the House of Fountain you can discover: the crafts of Alto Minho, the heritage and symbol of a region and a people; the Road to Santiago (on the road to Lima) through Ponte de Lima, Arcozelo and Labruja; the pilgrimage sites of Minho; the largest live entertainment tourist poster of Minho/Norte de Portugal; and its regional cuisine.
